Project Coordinator – Marine Conservation
WCS Belize is seeking a Project Coordinator to lead the day-to-day coordination, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of the project “Enhancing Management of Glover’s Reef Marine Reserve and South Water Caye Marine Reserve Using an Integrated Seascape Approach.”
The position will work closely with the Belize Fisheries Department (BFD), marine reserve personnel, communities, consultants, and other project partners to support effective and timely project implementation.
📍 Location: Belize City, with frequent community visits and occasional fieldwork at Glover’s Reef and South Water Caye Marine Reserves
🕒 Type: Full-time
Key Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Natural Resource Management, Marine Science, Fisheries Science, Environmental Science, Conservation, Project Management, Development Studies, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience, including at least 3 years coordinating or managing conservation, fisheries, marine protected area, natural resource management, or community development projects
- Experience in project planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, and donor reporting
- Experience working with government agencies, multidisciplinary technical teams, communities, and stakeholders
- Strong technical writing, analytical, organizational, and reporting skills
- Strong proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Excellent written and spoken English; Spanish and Garifuna are an asset
- Valid driver’s license
